The Church of St. Rocco

The Church of St. Rocco was built in 1965 on the southern slope of the hill Plišivac, between Donja and Gornja Vala. It is 15 metres long and 6 metres wide, and the bell tower is built into the front of the church and protects the entrance from rain. Up until 1998 it was called the church of ‘Our Lady of Mount Carmel’, when the parish priest, friar Nikola Glavinić, enticed by the people, asked the Archdiocese in Split for a permission to change the name in honour of the old church of St. Rocco which was located nearby and was demolished in 1964 during the construction of the D8 state road.

• Holy mass is held every Sunday throughout the year in the Church of Saint Rocco at 10.30.
