Due to its unique geomorphology, exceptional biodiversity and natural beauty of the landscape, Biokovo was proclaimed a nature park in 1981 and its entrance is just 25.5km away from Drvenik (at the 6th kilometre of the Makarska-Vrgorac state road).It stretches over an area of 196km² and includes a mountain range from the Dupci pass to Gornji Igrani, approximately 30km long and 7km wide on average.
You can come from the main entrance to Biokovo Nature Park to its highest peak Sv. Jure (1762 metres above sea level) and the second highest peak in Croatia by mountain trails and a 23km-long road, which is also the highest asphalt road in Croatia.
